Born to a Elezen father and a Roegadyn mother, Aer grew up on the docks of Limsa, learning about the sea from her very first steps. The odd pairing of her parents was something often mentioned, though whispered behind hands and bent heads. She found her parents story to be quite romantic, Ahldbhar used to be a scion of one of the four high houses of Ishgard and fell in love with Dyrstwyda after the large Roegadyn sailor rescued the Elezen from drowning. His family disowned him, tossing him out of the city and Dyrstwyda often joked that she didn't just rescue the Elezen from the water, but also his 'arsefilled' family. Dyrstwyda gave her husband a new name, and a new home in Limsa.Aer loved her parents and being a bold, blunt child got into much trouble protesting the snide comments. Time (and her parents) taught her better ways of dealing with a mocking insult, or an issued threat. She grew up in a tough area, and the last thing her parents wanted was Aer getting in over her head because a thoughtless word. She grew up fast, starting to work with her father as soon as she could safely lift a crate. Life for the longest time was the familiar day to day of unloading and loading ships for the various merchants.Aer believed that she would be simply a dockworker for the rest of her life. Until the unthinkable happened. Her father took a bad deal to keep the family porter business from going belly up. It put the business under the thumb of some not so savory characters. Aer needed someone or several someone's to help her buy her father out of a mountain of debt. It probably wasn't the best idea, but rumors led her to Dreamland, and to Xalan and Venus. It wasn't an easy thing to do, taking the paperwork, licenses, and contacts from her fathers office. In effect Aer sold the porter business to Dreamland, the company would transport any and all 'items' Dreamland required. The gil for the purchase would go to the men her Pa had borrowed from, clearing the debt from his name. Now Aer has a new boss, and a new world to learn about.
